Placing the implants
The process itself is relatively painless and is performed under local anaesthesia. At Charlton Park, we can also offer you the choice of IV sedation if you are feeling particularly anxious about the treatment.
First, Mo will evaluate both your medical and dental health to assess if dental implants are suitable and appropriate.
Then, the fixture will adhere to the surrounding bone, serving as a new root.
Once the area has completely healed, an abutment will be placed on top of the fixture. This will support your new crown, bridge or denture.
After your crown/bridge has been designed, or your denture modified, it will be secured on top of the abutment/s.
Following the treatment, it is strongly advised you continue maintaining good oral hygiene as well as regular visits to your dentist and hygienist.
